Mr. Hezi (Ezekiel) Kalo

Director General



Hezi Kalo has served as Director General of the Bank of Israel since October 2008. Hezi was born in 1952, and lives in Kochav Yair.  He is married to Aliza Kalo, and has three children. 

 
Education
Bachelor's degree in Political Science (Haifa University) and graduate of the National Security College (with honors).
Numerous continuing education studies in management and computerization, including a specialization in Information Technology at Harvard University (July 2005) and a Directors course at Tel Aviv University (May 2008).

Languages
Hebrew mother tongue, speaks English and Arabic fluently.

Employment
2003–2008: Clalit Health Services - Vice President of Human Resources and Information.  In this position, he established the organization's human resources array.
1998–2003: Clalit Health Services - Vice President of Planning and Information
1973–1988: Israel Security Agency - For more than 12 years, he served in senior management and command positions at the level of department head (equivalent to a Major General in the IDF).  Among these positions, he served as Northern District department head and as Non-Arab Affairs department head.  In his last position at the Israel Security Agency he served as head of the Human Resources and Training department.
