Central credit register
In accordance with the Credit Data Law, 5776-2016, the Bank of Israel is working to establish a credit data sharing system in Israel, which is to include a Central Credit Register (CCR).

The CCR will assist in enhancing competition in the retail credit market by expanding the information available to credit providers when assessing the level of a customer’s credit risk, will increase the access to credit and will also serve as a database of nonidentifying information that will improve the Bank of Israel’s ability to monitor developments in the consumer credit market, thus serving the Bank in the fulfilment of its functions, including for macroeconomic research needs and the development of effective policy tools.

The Bank of Israel decided to contract with the Matrix IT company on the issue of the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the credit data sharing system in Israel. The agreement includes operation and maintenance for a period of one year after its establishment, with an option to extend.
