Publication of representative exchange rates of NIS against currencies of the European Monetary Union (EMU) members

On 1 January 2002 euro notes and coins went into circulation in the member countries of the EMU, and the euro became their legal tender. The individual currencies of those countries will cease to be legal tender early in 2002, with effect from dates determined separately by each country.

The Foreign Currency Department of the Bank of Israel announces that from 28 January 2002 it will no longer publish representative exchange rates for the following currencies:
