The Bank of Israel Foreign Exchange Reserves, May 2006

The foreign exchange reserves at the end of May 2006 stood at $ 28,085 million, a rise of $ 252 million from their level at the end of April 2006. This increase was due mainly to the Bank of Israel's income from the investment of the reserves, and was partly offset by government withdrawals from its accounts with the Bank of Israel to finance its activities abroad.
