The Bank of Israel Foreign Exchange Reserves, August 2006

The foreign exchange reserves at the end of August 2006 stood at $ 27,929 million, a drop of $ 52 million from their level at the end of July 2006. The fall was due mainly to government withdrawals from its accounts with the Bank of Israel to finance operations overseas, which were almost completely offset by Bank of Israel income from investment of the reserves.
