Israel’s foreign exchange reserves at the end of May 2008 stood at $29,821 million, a rise of $439 million from their level at the end of April 2008.
The change derived mainly from:
On the one hand, Bank of Israel purchases on the market of $424 million as part of the plan to increase the foreign exchange reserves over the next two years, and transfers from abroad of about $638 million by the private sector.
On the other hand, public sector transfers to abroad of about $531 million and a revaluation of about $92 million of the forex reserves.
