Joint Ministry of Finance and Bank of Israel Press Release
The IMF today submitted the Concluding Statement of the Mission to Israel prior to the submission of its 2010 Annual Report on Israel's Economy

The members of the IMF Mission, under Mission Chief Mr Peter Doyle, today submitted the Concluding Statement on Israel's Economy in 2010 to the Minister of Finance, Dr Yuval Steinitz and the Governor of the Bank of Israel, Professor Stanley Fischer. The IMF is expected to submit its full 2010 report on Israel's economy in January 2011.
The Governor of the Bank of Israel said in the meeting with the Mission that the annual visit of the IMF economists to Israel is very important to Israel. "The members of the mission are expert and experienced economists, and we derive much benefit from their reports. IMF economists generally express support for economic policy implemented in Israel. Nevertheless, in some areas they also voice criticism and make proposals which we take very seriously."
The Governor added that "today we have received the preliminary report of the IMF. We will study it carefully, and the recommendations it contains, and will consider them seriously."
The Minister of Finance thanked the members of the Mission, and said that "as in past years, the Mission had a series of meetings with the country's economic leaders from the public and private sectors, and showed professionalism and seriousness in its approach. We are gratified by the support given to many of the steps taken by the Ministry of Finance to deal with the crisis. As always, we will study the wise comments and suggestions made by the Mission, and I am sure we will derive great benefit from them for Israel's economy."
