The Governor of the Bank of Israel announces the appointment of Ronen Kaufman as Director of the Bank’s Human Resources and Administration Department

Governor of the Bank of Israel Prof. Amir Yaron today announced his decision to appoint Mr. Ronen Kaufman to the position of Director of the Bank’s Human Resources and Administration Department. Mr. Kaufman will take up the position on November 1, 2020. The Governor made the decision after interviewing a small number of candidates who were proposed for his examination by the search committee led by the Supervisor of Banks.

 

Mr. Ronen Kaufman served until recently as Head of the Human Resources Division at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Kaufman has many years of experience in human resources and wage management in numerous financial and business entities. Within the framework of his position, he has led organizational changes, managed the development and implementation of innovation in human resources process, worked to develop the area of organizational engagement, and promoted processes in the areas of control in the approach to management and service.

 

Ronen Kaufman has a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Employment Studies and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Behavior, both from Tel Aviv University.

 

Governor of the Bank of Israel Prof. Amir Yaron said, “I welcome the appointment of Ronen Kaufman to the position of Director of the Bank’s Human Resources and Administration Department. The wealth of experience and knowledge he has accumulated at various organizations and areas will help considerably in leading the Bank to tomorrow in this sphere and in realizing the strategic plan. The human resource and its development and the logistical infrastructure are a significant basis for the work of every organization, and central banks are characterized by unique needs and challenges in this area. In addition, I would like to thank the outgoing Director of the Department, Ms. Pnina Keren, for her considerable contribution over many years and the significant processes she led in the area, which markedly helped the work of the central bank.”
